![](https://i.imgur.com/LUgYUfD.png) The Blockchain Ideas Summit at Oklahoma State University took place [today](https://fe.okstate.edu/events/upcoming-events.html). A few high-profile people were expected to be there, people who might be able to nationally promote the projects they find truly interesting and valuable. Among them, two of the individuals, George Gilder and John Tamny have a truly national reach. George Gilder will be hosting a 2-day technology conference in November in Bellevue, WA where Peter Thiel will be the keynote speaker. John Tamny writes daily columns that are regularly featured in places like Forbes. ### A massive representation of Hive projects The idea was to have a handful of project presenters explaining projects that have significant potential to transform the way we create value for society using blockchain technologies. Out of 5 speakers, 3 were presenting Hive-related projects - @brianoflondon - value4value and podping - @theycallmedan and @starkerz - The SPK Network - @arcange (me) - [Hive Authentications Services](https://hiveauth.com) These presentations have been made possible thanks to Dr. Steve Trots (@trostparadox) who is an active member of our community and who has invited us to present our projects. What is impressive is the number of Hive projects that have been selected for this event. Here is the explanation provided by Steve: ![](https://images.hive.blog/50x50/https://i.imgur.com/TGpSeIV.png) @trostparadox > I wanted to avoid making the summit a mini-HiveFest, but I could not find many suitable projects that met our criteria that were not related to Hive in some fashion. It is really encouraging to receive such feedback from the academic world. It also demonstrates to what extent the developers who are involved in the development of our blockchain and in the projects that revolve around it offer avant-garde solutions. I hope we will soon have feedback from those who were able to go there because @brianoflondon and I were not able to travel and therefore did our presentations remotely. I still do not know if there will there be a recording of the presentations available, but if so, I'll be sure to share them with you. ---
