Since mid-2024, our team has been building Hive tools in the HAF ecosystem, working alongside @blocktrades and the core development team. This is our third Hive Dev proposal, and we want to start with a big thank you to everyone who supported the first two. ![Hive logo above the words "Dev Proposal #3", with three developers at a laptop, an analytics dashboard and mobile apps](https://usermedia.actifit.io/MVU1N298R4N5J3DDRT8S3NYZDYVWZD) Proposal #2 was funded for only about the second half of its term. During that period, 25 people contributed through our work, and we merged **434 merge requests** across 10 Hive repositories and shipped: - **Two new HAF apps:** **haf\_stats** (network analytics) and **haf\_fyp** (a personalised For You feed), both now standard modules in the latest haf\_api\_node release. **PeakD serves haf\_fyp's ranking** to its readers. - **hivescan.info as an analytics hub:** a dashboard you arrange yourself, sign-in with Keychain and HiveSigner, account analytics with a delegation map, a **DHF Governance Hub**, and network, RC and governance reports in 12 languages. - **New endpoints and fixes in Hive's core backends:** Balance Tracker, HAF Block Explorer, Hivemind, HiveSense and HAF, including rebuilt escrow tracking, corrected witness vote counts, and a Hivemind bug that silently skipped blocks, which we found and diagnosed on our node. - **Two public HAF API nodes** that we run, carrying the full stack. - **Apps that bring people to Hive:** Waggle; HivePulse, now a Hive wallet with a Scam Shield, on Chrome and Firefox; Hive Runner; four apps, not yet launched, from our **summer developer cohort**; Actifit's on-chain challenges engine, **The Arena**, with redesigned Android and iOS apps; weekly contests that pay Hive writers in HIVE, run in our new Hdev Contests community; and **Vylor**, a finance app built this year and live on Google Play and the App Store. Our ask is 275 HBD/day, about 34% less than our prior proposal's adjusted rate, after streamlining our developer allocation and infrastructure. Below is what we delivered, what comes next and what the ask pays for. Thank you for reading, and for helping us keep improving Hive. ## Summary In the year of proposal #2 (2025-11-01 to 2026-10-28) the team merged **434 merge requests across 10 Hive GitLab repositories**. It also shipped two new HAF applications, **haf\_stats** and **haf\_fyp**, and both are standard modules in the latest haf\_api\_node release, 1.28.8. This proposal (#3) funds the next year: keeping those apps and the Block Explorer moving, and the new work listed under Upcoming work. What the year delivered, at a glance: - **haf\_stats**, a new HAF analytics app: 114 MRs, with network statistics, governance, RC and per-account endpoints feeding the Block Explorer's dashboards. - **haf\_fyp**, a new HAF app for a personalised For You feed: 112 MRs. It is live: PeakD, Waggle and HivePulse serve its ranking, and Denser plans to. - **Block Explorer UI** ([hivescan.info](https://hivescan.info)): 148 MRs, adding a modular dashboard, sign-in with Keychain and HiveSigner, a full analytics and reporting section, and per-account analytics that complete roadmap items 2 and 5. - **Backend work** in Balance Tracker, HAF Block Explorer, HAF, Hivemind, HiveSense and haf\_api\_node: 60 MRs. - **Waggle**, a For You feed front end, the Hive Runner game and the **HivePulse** browser extension and wallet, on GitHub; four Hive apps in development from our summer cohort of Hive developers; Actifit's new on-chain challenges engine (The Arena), its apps and site; and Vylor, a personal finance app that works with Hive, live on Google Play and the App Store. In all, 3,192 commits on GitHub, cohort developers and contributors included. - **Two public HAF API nodes** we run: testapi.hivescan.info and hiveapi.actifit.io. ### Roadmap from proposal #2 | # | Item | Status | Where | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | 1 | Customizable modular dashboard | Done | [block\_explorer\_ui#673](https://gitlab.syncad.com/hive/block_explorer_ui/-/issues/673), then templates and synced workspaces | | 2 | Interactive financial sunburst | Done: Financial Summary sunburst in the Account Analytics tab | [block\_explorer\_ui#653](https://gitlab.syncad.com/hive/block_explorer_ui/-/issues/653) | | 3 | User authentication | Done: Keychain and HiveSigner sign-in | [block\_explorer\_ui#672](https://gitlab.syncad.com/hive/block_explorer_ui/-/issues/672) | | 4 | RC footprint and DApp usage dashboard | Done, now priced from each transaction's recorded RC | [haf\_stats](https://gitlab.syncad.com/hive/haf_stats), [block\_explorer\_ui#654](https://gitlab.syncad.com/hive/block_explorer_ui/-/issues/654) | | 5 | Influence and delegation map | Done: Influence & Delegation Map in the Account Analytics tab | [block\_explorer\_ui#655](https://gitlab.syncad.com/hive/block_explorer_ui/-/issues/655) | | 6 | Hive reporting dashboard | Done: dashboard widgets plus reports pages | [hivescan.info](https://hivescan.info) | | 7 | HAF backend endpoints (DAU, TVL, RC footprint, financial, RC delegations) | Done | haf\_stats, balance\_tracker, haf | | 9 | HAF\_FYP | Done and live | [haf\_fyp](https://gitlab.syncad.com/hive/haf_fyp) | | 8 | HAF\_CHAT | Not started this year | — | ## Delivered work, by project Everything below is public. It is the data layer behind hivescan.info's analytics and reports. Because it ships in the standard HAF API node stack, any node operator can serve it and any front end can build on it. [Repository](https://gitlab.syncad.com/hive/haf_stats). - **Network statistics:** daily active users, vote stats, content volume, engagement, a top-accounts leaderboard, HP distribution and author retention and signup-cohort funnels. Values are checked against a real 5M-block replay. ([daily active users](https://testapi.hivescan.info/haf-stats-api/network/daily-active-users), [top accounts](https://testapi.hivescan.info/haf-stats-api/network/top-accounts)) - **Checked against Hivemind:** post counts match Hivemind exactly on all 3,864 days from 2016-03-24 to 2026-10-21, and comment counts stay within 2%. That gap came from a Hivemind sync issue we reported and the core team fixed on October 26, [hivemind#394](https://gitlab.syncad.com/hive/hivemind/-/issues/394). Two counting bugs found on the way, a double count and a ~19% over-report, were fixed first. ([the check](https://gitlab.syncad.com/hive/haf_stats/-/merge_requests/124)) - **Governance:** stake concentration (Gini coefficient, top-1% and top-10% shares) and per-witness missed-block stats. ([influence concentration](https://testapi.hivescan.info/haf-stats-api/governance/influence-concentration)) - **Resource Credits:** network RC utilization, per-account RC footprint and a DApp footprint that maps custom\_json to named apps in 9 categories. It adds a per-event RC timeline for each account, and RC estimates calibrated against the node's own rc\_api (the old model priced a typical custom\_json about 3× too high). Since October, RC uses each transaction's **recorded cost** where the node has it. ([RC footprint](https://testapi.hivescan.info/haf-stats-api/account/actifit/rc-footprint)) - **Communities and social graph:** an account's activity per community (each reply traced up to its root post, checked against Hivemind on 120 real threads), its top partners for replies, votes, transfers, reblogs and follows, and a network-wide DApp usage leaderboard by app or category. These power hivescan.info's community, Sankey and DApp-usage reports. - **Account finances:** a per-account financial summary covering 15 operation types, incoming and outgoing. - **Performance:** a year of daily active users went from 7.8 s to 4.6 ms (~1,700× faster), a heavy account's RC footprint from ~104 s to ~4.3 s and the 365-day top-accounts query from ~22 s to 0.98 s. A nightly refresh's slowest read fell from 8.3 s to 2–4 ms, and the network DApp usage leaderboard from ~20 s to about 0.55 s. A full rebuild of account financial history went from tens of hours to 1–2 hours. All were measured on our node, testapi. - **Operations:** a safe install, upgrade and uninstall, tested in CI against the real installer; a version endpoint and a corrected sync status; a published image; and a published disk footprint for operators (about 125 GB on compressed ZFS). It also fixed a stall in which haf\_stats, waiting on Hivemind, could hold up Hivemind and its API on the whole node. It ships as a standard module in the latest release, 1.28.8, of the [haf\_api\_node](https://gitlab.syncad.com/hive/haf_api_node) stack. ### haf\_fyp — personalised For You feed (new HAF app) The open-source discovery engine promised as item 9 of proposal #2: a personalised For You feed computed from HAF data. Front ends get a ready-made feed in Hive bridge format, readers get posts picked for them, and a score explainer shows why each post was picked. [Repository](https://gitlab.syncad.com/hive/haf_fyp). - **Ranking:** recency, engagement, author credibility (stake and reputation) and semantic relevance from HiveSense embeddings, with a per-community diversity cap. New readers pick a few interests, so their first feed is never empty. Posts the reader or their community muted are left out. - **Ranking that works as designed:** only 0.31% of posts had a community recorded, so the community boost barely applied; it is now 21.35%, with a stronger boost for communities a reader subscribes to. New readers' interest profiles were never built for established communities, and readers who picked interests but never voted were never re-ranked, so their feeds sat 12–15 days old. All three are fixed. - **Fresh for people who read it:** a reader's feed used to be about 11 hours old on average, and up to 22. Readers who open their feed are now ranked first, and a read that arrived during a ranking pass no longer waits 12–16 minutes but about 2 s; in a test on our node, a stale feed was re-ranked 9 s after it was opened. ([MR](https://gitlab.syncad.com/hive/haf_fyp/-/merge_requests/99)) - **API:** personalised and global feeds in Hive bridge format, a score explainer and an algorithm registry. A 20-post page is served in about 0.13–0.16 s end to end. Rendered posts are cached, so on the server a 20-post page takes 35 ms personalised (was 911 ms) and 12 ms global (was 345 ms). ([global feed](https://testapi.hivescan.info/haf-fyp-api/v1/fyp/global), [a personal feed](https://testapi.hivescan.info/haf-fyp-api/v1/fyp/feed/mcfarhat)) - **Telemetry:** front ends report impressions, opens and dwell time, and the app rolls them into daily metrics. It can also A/B test two ranking versions against each other. PeakD has sent these events since October 6: 322 from 18 accounts by October 15. - **Security:** changes to a reader's interests must be signed with their posting key, and delegated posting authority is accepted. Readers can opt out with a signed request; the same change fixed a bug that made saving interests fail for every reader on some installs. Rate limits apply per client, charged before a request is read when the node gateway identifies the caller. An opt-in setting stops forged reads from claiming ranking slots. - **Adoption:** **PeakD** serves haf\_fyp's ranking to its readers. From September 23 to October 15, 326 of 442 feed requests (74%) came from PeakD, for 105 accounts, on all 23 days. We measure this from request origins in our node's logs. Our own Waggle and HivePulse's For You tab run on it too, and Denser plans to adopt it. - **Operations:** one query had used about 98% of the app's CPU and starved the whole node: Block Explorer and Balance Tracker fell 43 blocks behind and returned errors. A partial index fixed it (load from ~5.7 to ~1.6) and both recovered. Node operators can now tune feed freshness: on our node a full re-ranking pass went from ~22 h to under 4 h. It also gained a /metrics health endpoint, a personalised fallback when HiveSense is down, HAF app locks, truthful health checks, install lanes tested against real HAF in CI and a published image. It ships as a standard module in the latest haf\_api\_node release, 1.28.8. ![Waggle screenshot](https://usermedia.actifit.io/MVU1H2L3LTJ01GN2UMRCJ33JHQTVK) *Waggle, running on haf\_fyp, shows each reader why a post was picked: relevance, recency, engagement and credibility, plus a boost for communities they follow.* ### Block Explorer UI — hivescan.info The explorer front end. This year it became an analytics hub for Hive: a dashboard you arrange yourself, sign-in with Keychain or HiveSigner, and reports on activity, resources, communities, wallets and governance, in 12 languages. Try it live at [hivescan.info](https://hivescan.info). [Repository](https://gitlab.syncad.com/hive/block_explorer_ui). - **Modular dashboard** (roadmap item 1): drag-and-drop widgets, then 7 ready-made templates (Me, Network, Market, Governance, Creator, Growth and Essentials), and workspaces that sync encrypted on chain. - **Sign-in with Keychain and HiveSigner** (roadmap item 3); HiveSigner returns you to the page you came from. The signed-in menu shows upvote mana, downvote mana and RC. - **Analytics and reports** (items 4 and 6), built on haf\_stats: - activity dashboards: DAU, voting, HP distribution with a stake-concentration Lorenz curve, top accounts, retention, content volume and engagement quality; - resource and community reports: RC utilization, DApp usage, community activity and social interactions; - top holders: supply concentration (top-10 and top-100 shares, Nakamoto coefficient), labels for exchanges, the DHF and witnesses, and where you rank. - **Account Analytics (roadmap items 2 and 5):** a tab on every account page with a Financial Summary sunburst, RC footprint and DApp usage, RC consumption, content and activity, and an Influence & Delegation Map of who delegates to whom. Each report is also a dashboard widget, and most export to CSV. - **Tools hub:** Compare Accounts, a shareable account card, and a Bad Actors lookup that shows whether an account is flagged. - **Blocks page, rebuilt:** block insights, each block's mix of operation types, and a slot-health strip that shows missed slots and which witness missed them. - **Wallet and governance:** the new balances view, Total Value Locked, transfer volume, proposal vote history, incoming RC delegations, a witness missed-blocks widget, pending author and curation rewards, open orders and pending conversions, and recurring-transfer details. A fix corrected total account value, which had counted the weekly power-down twice. - **Governance tools:** a [DHF Governance Hub](https://gitlab.syncad.com/hive/block_explorer_ui/-/merge_requests/892) with a proposal watchlist, an impact simulator, reminders and voting straight from each proposal card, and a [Witness Dashboard](https://gitlab.syncad.com/hive/block_explorer_ui/-/merge_requests/895) where signed-in users see and change their witness votes. - **Quality:** 12 languages, SEO (server-side meta, sitemap, Open Graph images), link previews that now show on Telegram, Discord and X, app-wide pagination and many fixes. The explorer runs on any HAF node: where an optional app is missing, it says so instead of showing errors or empty values. ![Hivescan overview](https://usermedia.actifit.io/MVU1HUC14PEKEK7J0JIX9AB7T39OZK) *The hivescan.info overview on 2026-10-29: live blocks, account growth, daily active users, retention funnels and HP distribution, mostly served by haf\_stats.* ### Backend apps: Balance Tracker, HAF Block Explorer, HAF, Hivemind, HiveSense, haf\_api\_node These are the HAF backends that hivescan.info and other Hive front ends query. We added the endpoints the new dashboards needed, made slow queries fast, and fixed problems upstream where we found them, including a silent block-skip bug in Hivemind. - **[balance\_tracker](https://gitlab.syncad.com/hive/balance_tracker):** - new endpoints: Total Value Locked, power-up and power-down history, RC delegations, and a top-holders balance range; - fixes: escrow tracking, which was broken for transfers, releases, approvals, disputes and fees, rebuilt with new escrow state and fee tables; routed power-downs no longer credited to the wrong account; HBD savings interest tracked per account, which the pending-interest endpoint relies on; recurrent-transfer fixes for HF28; and faster live sync. - **[haf\_block\_explorer](https://gitlab.syncad.com/hive/haf_block_explorer):** - new endpoints: proposals and proposal votes with voter stake, operation-type statistics, pending HBD interest on accounts, an HBD status endpoint, a wallet-address growth endpoint (worst case from ~350 ms to under 10 ms), and a hardforks endpoint that lists HF0 to HF28 and the hardfork in force at any block; - fixes and speed: witness vote counts, which dropped lost votes and were wrong for every witness, now correct; operation-type counts read from per-block totals (about 9 ms for 1,000 blocks); a codebase restructure; and proposal-vote timeouts fixed on develop and live on testapi, shipping in the next release. - **[hivemind](https://gitlab.syncad.com/hive/hivemind):** a new endpoint for each user's pending author and curation rewards, with a breakdown of how each reward is calculated, and a notification wording fix. We also found a bug on our node that made Hivemind silently skip a block, diagnosed how it happens and filed it (hivemind #336); the core team traced it to a 2024 regression and fixed it. - **[hivesense](https://gitlab.syncad.com/hive/hivesense):** version and sync-status endpoints and a bounded retry for missing posts. Three more fixes are in review (see Upcoming work). - **[haf\_api\_node](https://gitlab.syncad.com/hive/haf_api_node):** haf\_stats and haf\_fyp added as standard modules, shipped in the 1.28.8 release, with gateway routes and health checks. - **Also:** a theme-aware [health checker](https://gitlab.syncad.com/hive/healthchecker-component). ### GitHub (hdev-core) Beyond GitLab, we build Hive apps in the open on GitHub under hdev-core: two front ends for haf\_fyp, a game, and four apps from our summer developer cohort that are still in development. Commit counts are for 2025-11-01 to 2026-10-28, all branches. - **[Waggle](https://hdev-core.github.io/waggle/)**, the For You feed front end built on haf\_fyp (42 commits, mcfarhat). It offers a swipe feed, sign-in with Keychain or HiveAuth, "why this post" explanations and telemetry, voting, reblogs, follows and comments signed on-chain, and 3Speak and YouTube playback. It runs as an installable web app with no backend of its own. - **[HivePulse](https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/hivepulse/hakcpohpejoejmlhiphpkjobpjeckdlg)**, a Hive browser extension and wallet for Chrome, Brave, Edge, Firefox and Firefox for Android (272 commits, mcfarhat; releases up to 1.16). From its popup, users send HIVE and HBD, claim rewards, earn HBD savings interest with an APR calculator, power up and down, delegate and manage Hive-Engine tokens, all signed through Keychain. Its Scam Shield blocks transfers and delegations to about 1,000 known scam accounts and warns on about 14,000 more. It also has a For You tab on haf\_fyp, an SEO analyzer, Ecency chat, a notification hub, an RC cost estimator and a market tab. Its weekly SEO contest pays Hive writers for posts that score well for search and AI answers: 300 to 500 HIVE in prizes each week depending on how many enter, plus referral and engagement prizes. Week 14 opened on 2026-10-27. - **[Hdev Contests](https://peakd.com/c/hive-177727)**, a Hive community we created in July 2026 to run our contests in the open. It hosts the weekly HivePulse SEO contest and the Vylor contests, and each round's rules, results and payouts are posted there. - **[Hive Runner](https://hdev-core.github.io/hive-runner/)**, a Hive-powered arcade game (Runner Dash) with Keychain login, scores posted on-chain, a live block feed, ghost racers and community teams (45 commits, mcfarhat; plus 1,387 automated leaderboard updates, not counted). It is already playable in public, ahead of its official launch. - **Summer cohort of Hive developers**: four Hive apps started over the summer and still in development, none launched yet, mentored by mcfarhat: - [Hive Freelance](https://github.com/hdev-core/hive-freelance) (140 commits), a freelance marketplace with Hive escrow; - [LINGO](https://github.com/hdev-core/lingo) (140), a daily word puzzle with an HBD reward pool; - [HiveLore](https://github.com/hdev-core/hivelore) (153), shared world-building that publishes approved stories to Hive; - [Hive Chameleon](https://github.com/hdev-core/hive-chameleon) (55), a 3D multiplayer hide-and-seek game that records match results on-chain. ### Actifit (GitHub) [Actifit](https://actifit.io) is a move-to-earn app on Hive: users are rewarded in AFIT for logging physical activity. Actifit's own proposal, #337, ended on 2026-04-15, and its work is now covered by this one. This year brought The Arena, an on-chain challenges engine, plus a redesigned Android app, a revamped iOS app and a refreshed actifit.io: 1,473 commits in all. - **[actifit-bot](https://github.com/actifit/actifit-bot)** (415 commits, mcfarhat): **The Arena**, a new challenges engine built on Hive. Joining, leaving and creating a challenge are signed custom\_json operations that the backend indexes from the chain. It went live in September with 6 recurring official contests, and any user can create a challenge. It has: - a challenge schema and indexer, with anti-cheat score verification; - user-created challenges, with badges or AFIT prizes split 50/30/20 among the top three; - creator-funded and recurring contests, and badges; - payouts in AFIT, and proposal-payout notifications. Released 0.1.0 to 0.3.1. Rewards rounds also gained Hive SBI units for up to 5 winners per round. - **[actifit-landingpage](https://github.com/actifit/actifit-landingpage)** (606 commits; mcfarhat 488, reemnii 57, ShahdQaddoura 39, moamensoo 15): the [actifit.io](https://actifit.io) site, releases 1.8 to 1.14. Highlights: The Arena (create wizard, profile badges), friends, a new wallet and a revamped market (1.13), on-chain proof before web activity rewards are granted and a new signup flow (1.10), and Actifitter of the Month. - **[actifit](https://github.com/actifit/actifit)** (447 commits; mcfarhat 409, AsmaaZeid 30, Adam-Diab1 8): the Android app. - A Material Design 3 redesign, with a streak strip, a native profile screen and a signup wizard. - Health Connect integration with custom workouts and an exercise library, Fitbit step history with charts, GPS route maps, friends, an in-app DHF vote prompt, shareable "Flex" achievement cards, a configurable daily step goal and 13 languages. - Releases 0.13 "The Pump" and 0.14 "Momentum", up to 0.14.2. The Arena is now built into the app (browse, standings, join and badges) and ships in the next release. - **[iOS app](https://apps.apple.com/app/actifit-fitness-tracker/id1433969051):** public on the App Store for years. This year's 1.0.0 "Liftoff" release (August) is a complete revamp: GPS route tracking, a native profile, Snaps, Waves and Threads inside the app, a redesigned dashboard with activity rings, a social feed, an in-app AFIT market, and distance and calorie tracking from Apple Health, phone sensors and Fitbit. - **[image-hoster](https://github.com/actifit/image-hoster)** (5 commits, mcfarhat): object storage added as a third storage tier. - **Security, through the year:** in March, actifit.io began sanitizing user posts against cross-site scripting and moved its API keys behind a server-side proxy. In April and May, the backend replaced outdated and vulnerable libraries, removed unsafe handling of user input, added security tests, rate-limited login, put sensitive endpoints behind authentication and began checking on-chain proof before granting rewards. In October, a login overhaul and hack attempt prevention. **The Actifit team:** alfamano, rabihfarhat, pjansen, katerinaramm, priyanarc, elizabethbit, silvertop and urasoul. ### Vylor [Vylor](https://vylor.money) is a voice-first personal finance and expense-tracking app, built by mcfarhat (860 commits, private repository). It puts Hive inside an everyday money app, where users meet HIVE and HBD alongside their regular accounts. Its Hive side: - it imports HIVE, HBD and HP balances read-only; - its PRO plan can be paid in HIVE or HBD through Keychain or HiveSigner, verified on-chain; - milestones from its Journey (XP, streaks and badges) can be posted to Hive as posts or as Waves, Snaps and Threads, signed with Keychain, HiveSigner or HiveAuth; - a Hive account counts in one live net-worth figure next to bank, crypto and brokerage accounts, with HBD valued at its $1 peg. Vylor was built from scratch this year and launched on Hive on 2026-08-27. Beyond Hive, it has an AI voice assistant, receipt scanning, proactive alerts, a referral program, multiple accounts, CSV import, PRO reports, an Android home-screen widget, wallet portfolios across other chains, Spanish localisation and support for 44 currencies. It is live on Google Play and the App Store, at version 1.7.4. We also ran Vylor contests on Hive, in Hdev Contests: a launch contest that paid 190 HIVE and a month of Vylor PRO to its three winners, and a Talk-to-Log challenge with a $50 USDT prize. ### Public HAF API nodes we run - **testapi.hivescan.info:** the API behind [hivescan.info](https://hivescan.info), with the full stack including haf\_stats and haf\_fyp. It was rebuilt on HAF 1.28.8 in October 2026. - **hiveapi.actifit.io:** a production 1.28.8 node that also runs a public seed (hive-seed.actifit.io). ## The team, and thanks In all, 25 people worked on these projects this year: 4 developers on GitLab, 8 summer-cohort developers, 5 Actifit code contributors and the 8-person Actifit team. The four developers below did this year's GitLab work. A big thank you to each of them, and to everyone below who helped along the way. | Who | Focus this year | Merged MRs | | --- | --- | --- | | mcfarhat | haf\_fyp and haf\_stats (design, build, operations), haf\_api\_node modules, HiveSense fixes, Block Explorer fixes, node operations, Waggle, HivePulse and Hive Runner, Actifit (Arena, apps, site) and Vylor | 232 | | delrifai | Block Explorer UI: dashboard, sign-in, analytics and reports, SEO, wallet and governance views | 121 | | mahdi | haf\_stats endpoints, HAF Block Explorer proposals and statistics, Balance Tracker endpoints including TVL, haf\_fyp fixes | 52 | | mzander | Balance Tracker and HAF Block Explorer backends, HAF parsers and Hivemind | 29 | Thanks also to: - **@blocktrades and the core team at Syncad**, and **Eric Frias (efrias)** in particular, for reviews, merges and the release work that made haf\_stats and haf\_fyp standard modules of the HAF API node stack. - **Our summer cohort of Hive developers:** lauremhsn, harfoushleen and sweidweb2 (Hive Freelance); intissarsoulaiman and laura1025 (LINGO); KareemN1936 and perlaimad (HiveLore); and mhmdibrahimm (Hive Chameleon). - **Actifit contributors:** reemnii, ShahdQaddoura and moamensoo (actifit.io), and AsmaaZeid and Adam-Diab1 (the Android app). - **Actifit socials team and moderators:** rabihfarhat, alfamano and urasoul run Actifit's socials, and our moderators keep the community going. - **louis88**, for their help with Actifit's security reviews. - **PeakD** (@asgarth), for being the first front end to serve haf\_fyp's ranking to its readers. ## Upcoming and pending work The coming year continues our existing Hive projects and our two HAF apps, adds a new HAF app, **HAF AI**, and keeps building our other Hive projects, Actifit and Vylor. Everything in it serves one goal: bringing new users and new functionality to Hive. The plans by area follow. ### Existing Hive projects - **Block Explorer UI ([hivescan.info](https://hivescan.info)):** grow the analytics and reports built on haf\_stats, adding dashboards as new metrics land. Extend RC as recorded cost, already shown on the account and network RC screens, to every report. Widen what signed-in users can do, building on Keychain and HiveSigner sign-in and synced workspaces. Keep the explorer current with each HAF release. - **Backend HAF apps** (Balance Tracker, HAF Block Explorer, HiveSense): new endpoints and speed-ups as the explorer and other front ends need them. Sharper HiveSense semantic search, with author and time-range filters, no deleted posts in results and safer sync checks. The author filter is already in review (hivesense !149): a search for one large author used to return nothing after 12–14 s, and for 99% of authors a search drops from ~0.4–0.75 s to ~10–25 ms. Fixes upstream where we find problems. This year, for example, we reported that any app's role could empty the HAF tables that record every app's progress (haf #348), and the core team has since closed that hole in HAF. - **Public nodes:** keep testapi.hivescan.info and hiveapi.actifit.io current with each HAF release. testapi is where our new work goes live first. ### Our HAF apps: haf\_stats and haf\_fyp - **haf\_stats:** use each transaction's recorded RC across every report, and add network and account metrics as the explorer's reports call for them. Keep its queries fast as history grows, and keep it current in each haf\_api\_node release. - **haf\_fyp:** improve the ranking with the reading signals front ends now send: impressions, opens and dwell time. Expose the feed-freshness settings operators can now tune in the haf\_api\_node configuration, and make sure front ends' telemetry passes the node gateway. Bring the feed to more front ends, Denser included, and keep it current in the standard release. ### New: HAF AI HAF AI is an MCP server that gives AI agents (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and others) citable, fresh access to Hive data that HAF nodes already serve. That covers HiveSense search, Hivemind posts and communities, HAfAH account history, haf\_stats metrics and haf\_fyp's ranked feed. Every answer links back to Hive, which turns AI answers into a way into Hive. It is read-only, holds no keys and runs no language model of its own. 1. **Pilot:** 7 tools on testapi.hivescan.info, with one real user through a Claude connector (about 3 weeks). 2. **Public listing:** account and community tools, metrics, the ranked feed, a haf\_api\_node module and a citation resolver (about 8 more weeks). This phase needs reviews from HiveSense and haf\_api\_node maintainers, one front end, and a second node operator. 3. **After listing:** topic briefs, onboarding answers and an agent-disclosure standard. 4. **Intelligence:** a curation score that resists gaming, profiles and topic tools, built with the HiveSense maintainers. Success target, 90 days after listing: 500 citation click-throughs a week, and 40 distinct callers a week with 15 of them returning. If it falls short (fewer than 5 returning callers, or fewer than 100 click-throughs a week), we reassess before building further. ### Other Hive projects on GitHub - **Waggle:** keep it as the reference front end for haf\_fyp, picking up new ranking features as they land and extending its "why this post" explanations. - **HivePulse:** keep improving the extension, its wallet, Scam Shield, For You tab and SEO analyzer, and keep running its weekly contests. - **Hive Runner:** take the game from public preview to launch, with its live block feed and on-chain scores. - **The summer cohort's apps** (Hive Freelance, LINGO, HiveLore, Hive Chameleon): take them from development to a public launch on Hive. ### Actifit - **The Arena:** more challenge types and contests on the on-chain challenges engine launched this year, building on its AFIT prizes and badges, and release it in the Android app. - **Apps and site:** keep improving the Android and iOS apps, and grow actifit.io alongside them. ### Vylor - Deepen its Hive integration. Planned items include HBD savings and transfers by voice, an on-chain backup and habit rewards. ## Proposal ask We are requesting **275 HBD/day** from 2026-12-01 to 2027-12-31, **about 34% less** than the adjusted rate of our recent proposal, [#360](https://peakd.com/proposals/360). Actifit's own proposal, #337, ended on 2026-04-15, and the team has not filed another since. Its work is covered by this one, so the DHF now funds one proposal from us instead of two. Proposal #2 was funded for only about half its term, yet the year's work went on: 434 merged MRs, two new HAF apps in the standard node release, and the Block Explorer's analytics hub. Given the state of crypto prices, we cut our own costs before setting the ask. We have reduced the developer time this proposal pays for, and cut our infrastructure: last year we ran more API nodes and servers, and we now run only the two public HAF API nodes named above. The ask splits roughly as follows, based on last year's spending: | Area | Share | HBD/day (approx.) | | --- | --- | --- | | Development | 77% | 210 | | Outreach and growth (socials, marketing and contest payouts) | 18% | 51 | | Infrastructure | 5% | 14 | ## How to follow our work We post regular progress updates on Hive, and all our work is open source: the HAF apps and the Block Explorer on [GitLab](https://gitlab.syncad.com/hive), and our other apps on GitHub ([hdev-core](https://github.com/hdev-core), [Actifit](https://github.com/actifit)). Every item in this proposal links to a merge request or a live endpoint, so anyone can check our progress at any time, and withdraw their vote if we fall short. ## Support this proposal (391) We invite you to support our third proposal and help us keep building Hive's open-source tools and bringing new users to Hive. - [Vote on PeakD](https://peakd.com/me/proposals/391) - [Vote on Ecency](https://ecency.com/proposals/391) - [Vote on the Hive wallet](https://wallet.hive.blog/proposals) - [Vote via HiveSigner](https://hivesigner.com/sign/update_proposal_votes?proposal_ids=%5B%22391%22%5D&approve=true) Thank you for your continued support.
